My art is inspired by the beauty of nature and the flow of the paint on the canvas itself. I feel compelled to paint what's around me and painting is something I simply must do. I love the beauty of the landscape at sunrise or sunset, by the lake or by the sea. I love capturing the perishable fragility of flowers while at the same time portraying their strong vibrant colours. I love the beauty of the cornfields and poppies in the breeze.
With the paintings I create I hope that my art will speak for itself in conveying the impact of the moment I have experienced either as an abstract composition or a place I have visited and captured forever. Motivated by the challenge presented by the beauty of nature itself I feel a certain amount of spontaneity and at the same time rigidity while creating my paintings shifting between focussing on fine details and larger compositional aspects. I love the vibrancy of the acrylics I use. They make everything come alive. Dancing on the canvas and making the painting almost paint itself. My paintings interact with me telling me which colours to choose and which thickness of paint they require.
Creating my art it is an altogether exhausting, yet totally exciting experience, all-consuming and demanding while at the same time providing a real sense of freedom and purpose and a feeling of liberation that I have never otherwise observed. I am completely fascinated by the freedom acrylics allow and I hope you, too, are able to feel this unique sense of freedom and love of colour in my paintings.
