I was born in Cardiff in 1972 and spent my childhood growing up in Wales. As a small child, I loved to draw and was always encouraged by my mother. I was especially interested in embroidery art sewing cushions and making silk embroidery pictures and knitted toys by the age of 10. As a teenager I would spend many rainy Saturdays in the impressionist wing of the National Museum Cardiff admiring the exceptionally rich collection of French impressionist paintings which includes Renoir's Blue Lady, 'La Parisienne', three of Monet's water lilies paintings and various works by van Gogh, Cezanne and Millet to name but a few.

At the age of 18 I left the country for Austria. During this time of my life I spent some time travelling around some of the countries of Europe and also became an au-pair for one and a half years before returning to further education when I decided to become a secondary school teacher for English and History. Although fascinated by the subject, I found that I had no real talent in the field of teaching young teenagers so I returned to the UK to redo my A-levels and get better grades before returning to Austria to enrol on a Translation Studies course at the University of Graz in 1994. I spent many years doing many different jobs working as a waitress to pay for my studies and giving English tuition to kids. I then went on to teach English at evening college and translate a culinary magazine for several years, but wasn't really able to devote a great deal of time to my artistic passion in Austria till I finished my studies in 2004.

I actually rekindled my love of painting again after purchasing a set of acrylic paints and a canvas in the year my studies came to an end and, inspired by my friends and family, have now decided to publish some of my works online.
